| iMMap Pro Imagemap Menu "The M-Files" demonstration (navigation map)
|
|
- This menu is an imagemap menu enhanced with drop-down menus.
- This demonstration shows some of the additional features
of version 2 of iMMap Pro.
- The imagemap has been defined to give two horizontal
bars of hotspots. Move the mouse along these to find numerous
submenus, some of which have further submenus attached.
- To get some of the submenus to appear in black and some in
green, the new v.2 stylesheets have been used. Two styles were defined
and applied to the various drop-down menus.
- The applet can be widened to cover the fill width of a page.
- Unlike v.1, text may now be painted onto the imagemap directly
for the top-level hotspots if desired. Thus the actual image for
this imagemap has black and blue bars with no text. The text is
added from the index file. This means that when the index file
is changed (pull down the 'applet control' menu to do this), a new
set of menus appears on the imagemap without changing the image.
This enables a fast, bandwidth-efficient operation of your website.
- This menu is compatible with any properly
java-compatible browser, including Netscape and Microsoft browsers from
vesion 3 upwards. It does not require DHTML or any complex
coding. It's easy to implement.
- Remember that this type of pop-up menu only pops-up
within the bounds of the imagemap applet. The submenus cannot pop-up
over other page content or over frames edges.
